SUZUSAN

Hiroyuki Murase was born in 1982 as the fifth generation of a cloth dyeing family company “Suzusan Shouten” carrying out traditional Arimatsu-Narumi shibori in Nagoya city, Aichi Prefecture. In 2003, he attended the Surrey Institute of Art and Design (now University for the Creative Arts) and after studied Integration Visual Art and architecture at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, graduating in 2011. In 2008, while at school, he founded “Suzusan e.K” where he began production of fashion, home fabrics and lighting equipment using shibori techniques. His products are currently sold in 22 countries.

5대째 이어져 온 브랜드 ‘Suzusan’의 이름을 그대로 사용해 독일에서 런칭했다. 디자이너 집안 대대로 이어져온 타이 염색, 시보리를 이용한 캐시미어 브랜드로서 모든 상품은 그의 고향인 나고야 아리마츠에서 제작된다. 의류 뿐만 아니라 스카프, 홈 패브릭, 조명 기구 등 다양한 분야에서 시보리 기술을 활용한다.
